Our History
Initially Surrey Disabled People's Partnership was established to provide assistance and peer support to disabled people. The charity has since developed and expanded, responding to meet the needs of disabled people. For example the introduction of a professional advocacy scheme as well as our disability information service (WIDE). In 2006 we introduced a much-needed home foot care service. As well as these services, Surrey Disabled People's Partnership campaigns for greater awareness of the needs and rights of disabled people.
We strive to improve and enhance services available to disabled people through liaison with local statutory and private organisations.
Surrey Disabled People's Partnership have been awarded Investors in People status as well as being awarded the Community Legal Services General Help Quality Mark.
Surrey Disabled People's Partnership is one of the founder members of Surrey Coalition of Disabled People. Being autonomous it can represent its members objectively, without any conflict of interests and can respond quickly and effectively to the needs of its members.
